Precious Jewellery

I understand all jewellery is precious. Some of it because of the materials it's made from, and other pieces because of the memories associated with it, or because it goes with everything you wear.
Some jewellers can't be bothered trying to repair costume jewellery, they are so used to working in precious metals and gemstones, they can't see that people value their perfect piece of costume jewellery, just as much as a gold and diamond ring.
With my experience in making and repairing precious 'real' jewellery, I can use these skills to find a way to give new life to a treasured piece, whatever its made from. There is so much more I can think of to do with a single earring, or a necklace that's too long, or a broken bracelet that's missing a few beads.

This contemporary necklace was made from the gold in my dear Auntie's ring. Now, while I adored my Aunt, the ring was outdated and the wrong size, and I would never have worn it as it was. I melted the gold into blobs, and cast some of it into an ingot, from which I drew the wire to make the rings. I added the discs  and rings to some silver chain, and now I am reminded of my Aunt, every time I put my new necklace on.

So, bring me your treasures, and lets talk about what else we can think of, so you can wear them again.

  2. Find it hard to believe you have the skills to make this piece.
There is no where near enough metal in a ring to make this piece
